Frequently asked questions
Short answers about the data, plans, billing, your license, DFS data and NFL projections.
Every plan
Can I build my own models on the data?
Yes, including machine-learning models. Each plan is licensed to one person. Free, Starter and Pro are for private research, sports analytics and personal modeling. Elite also lets you build your own site or app on the data.
Read the terms →Can I keep the data I download, including contest data?
Yes, for your own personal use. You may download and store any data that your plan opens, including all contest data, and keep it after your plan ends. On Free, Starter and Pro, it stays personal: you may not publish it in any shape or form. On Elite, you may also show it in your own site, app, newsletter, bot or social accounts. To distribute it in any other way, you need our Enterprise License.
Read the license terms →Can I publish the data, or charts and tables made from it?
Not on Free, Starter or Pro. They are for personal use only. You may not publish the data in any shape or form: not as a file, a table, a chart, a screenshot, a post, a website or an app. On Elite, you may show the data in your own site, app, newsletter, bot or social accounts.
Can my team, my customers or the public use the data?
Not on Free, Starter or Pro. Any other person who uses the data, or anything you build on it, is a user, paid or free, teammate or stranger. Elite lets people use your own site or app, with limits. For anything else, you need our Enterprise License. Each Enterprise License states what your users may see. No plan permits reselling or redistributing the data as a feed, API, export or database.
Ask about Enterprise →Can I combine STAT-API data with data from another provider?
Yes. You may join STAT-API data with your own data or another provider's, for example by the DraftKings and FanDuel upload IDs (export_id). The STAT-API data in it stays under your plan's license: on Free, Starter and Pro it is for your own use, and on Elite the Elite limits apply to it.
Elite commercial license
What does the Elite commercial license let me do?
If your business has less than $100K in yearly revenue, you may build your own site, app, newsletter or bot on the data, charge for it, and let people use it. They may see the data and your own analysis. You may not build another sports data API, feed or database, offer file downloads of slate or contest data, or show our NFL projections and projected ownership as they are. At $100K or more in yearly revenue, your site or app needs our Enterprise License.
What Elite can and cannot do →Can my users download their lineups to upload to DraftKings or FanDuel?
Yes, on Elite. Your users may download a file of the lineups that they build in your site or app, with only the players of each lineup, in DraftKings' or FanDuel's upload format. A file of a slate's player pool, its salaries or its contests is not allowed.
What Elite can and cannot do →Can my users see my own analysis and simulations?
Yes, on Elite. Your users may see the data and what you make from it, such as your own projections, ratings, optimizer results and simulations, within the Elite limits. Our NFL projections and projected ownership are the exception: use them only as inputs to your own numbers.
Can my site or app show users the data from my own stored copy?
Yes, on Elite, while your Elite plan is active. Your site or app may store and cache the data and show it to its users from there, within the Elite limits. It does not need to call the API for each user.
Do I have to show “Powered by STAT-API”?
Yes, on Elite. Your site or app shows our badge, linked to stat-api.com, on every page or screen with STAT-API data or anything you make from it, or in a header, footer or menu that appears on every such page or screen, and at the bottom of your home page. A newsletter may use the words “Powered by STAT-API” with the link instead, and a bot or social account may put them in its messages or its profile. The badge files, an HTML snippet, a one-line JavaScript and a React component are on the license page.

Where do the DraftKings and FanDuel IDs come from?
They are the IDs that DraftKings and FanDuel use in their own lineup upload files, from publicly available sources. STAT-API is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by DraftKings or FanDuel. Our license covers our service and our data only.
