How Contest Analysis works

Contest Analysis shows how the top finishers of an NFL daily fantasy contest built their lineups. Pick a slate and one of its contests to see the final standings: the rank, points, payout and number of entries of each user.

Open a user to see their build. The Players tab lists every player they used, how often they used him, and how often the whole field used him. The Lineups tab lists every lineup they entered, with its rank, points and payout.

Each week's flagship contest, such as the DraftKings Millionaire, is open to everyone in full. Pro opens every contest, every user and every lineup, with CSV and JSON downloads.

Every number comes from the contest's lineup file, the same data the stat-api API serves. "Get this data" shows the API request behind each view, in curl, TypeScript and Python.

The numbers

Exp

The exposure: the share of the user's own lineups that include the player.

Field

The share of all lineups in the contest that include the player, which is the player's ownership.

Leverage

Exp minus Field. A positive number means the user played the player more often than the field did.

Edge

The points per lineup that the player gained (+) or cost (−) the user against the field: Leverage ÷ 100 × (the player's points − the field's average points per roster spot).
