Pricing FAQ
What counts as a record?
A record is one row of data returned by the API. On Starter, every request counts the rows it returns. On Pro and Elite, only slate & contest records count, 1 record per row: contest lineups, slates and slate players (the player salaries). A contest ownership table costs 1 record for every 100 lineups of the contest, at least 5 a call. Every other request costs no records. A contest with 100,000 entries costs 100,000 records. Every paid response shows where you stand in the X-Quota-Used and X-Quota-Remaining headers.
What is the Free Preview?
You can sign up and explore every table across every sport for free without a credit card. Free preview requests return the first 5 rows so you can inspect live data shapes and schemas. Full pagination (page > 1, from_id cursors, and limits > 5) requires a paid tier (Starter or higher).
What happens when I hit my monthly quota?
On paid plans, requests return 429 with your reset date until the quota resets at 00:00 UTC on the 1st of the month, or immediately after you upgrade. Nothing is billed automatically — there are no overage charges.
Is there a rate limit?
Yes, 600 requests per minute for each API key, on top of the monthly record quota. A request over the limit returns 429 with a Retry-After header and costs no records.
Which plan includes DraftKings and FanDuel contest results?
Pro and Elite. It opens DraftKings and FanDuel contest results for NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL, every year since 2021: each lineup's rank, points and payout, and each player's actual ownership, as CSV or JSON. Free and Starter keys get a 5-lineup preview of any contest, and the top 100 entries of each marquee contest are free: each NFL week's flagship contests and each NBA night's biggest DraftKings and FanDuel contests.
Do plans limit which sports I can use?
Starter covers all core sports (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and PGA) and betting odds. Pro and Elite add the DFS data: DraftKings and FanDuel contest results for NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL, slates and salaries for every sport, and our NFL projections.
How do upgrades and downgrades work?
Switch plans any time from the billing portal; Stripe prorates the difference. Your new quota applies as soon as the switch lands — usually seconds.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes, from the billing portal in your account settings. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you paid for: your plan and its quota stay active until then. Fees already paid are non-refundable, except where the law requires a refund.
Can I keep the data I download?
Yes, for your own personal use. You may download and store any data your plan opens, including all contest data, and keep it after your plan ends. On Free, Starter, and Pro, you may not publish it in any shape or form — not as a file, table, chart, screenshot, post, website, or app. On Elite, you may show it in your own site, app, newsletter, bot or social accounts.
Can my team, my customers, or the public use the data?
Not on Free, Starter, or Pro. Each is a single-user license for one person's own use. You may store the data, cache it, and build your own models on it. Any other person who uses the data, or anything you build on it, is a user — paid or free, teammate or stranger. Elite adds a commercial license: if your business has less than $100K in yearly revenue, you may build your own site, app, newsletter or bot and let people use it. It may not be another sports data API, feed or database, offer file downloads of slate or contest data, or show our projections as they are. For anything else, you need our Enterprise License. Each Enterprise License states what your users may see. No plan permits reselling or redistributing the data as a feed, API, export, or database.
